Having taken part in the Puppet Challenge, I think I always knew it was never going to end with just Reynard. The fables have other characters; ones who turn up in stories from across the breadth of Europe, from France to Russia.
Alongside Chanticleer will be Isengrim the Wolf.
Although I am particularly looking forward to making Isengrim; and I have had the fun of ordering the wool for him, I plan to start with Chanticleer.
This is primarily because I have enough wool, in the correct colour, to complete the puppet. Secondly, I have a very clear idea of how I want to make feathers and fix the rod and joint system for the cockerel. From this design I plan to work on the renewed Bloduewedd, as owl

Stage one of the cockerel is now progressing nicely, I have a head, most of a ruff, and a handle to control the head.
